Questions

Recology pickup, maggots, and the 3-cart package.

Do you clean all three Recology carts?

Yes. Oroville’s mandatory 3-cart service is gray (landfill), blue (recycling), and green (organics). Most neighbors book the 3-cart package because the green organics cart is the one that actually smells. You can add extra carts if you have more than three, at $10 per extra cart.

How do the volume discounts work?

Price is per clean, set by cart count: $30 for one cart, $40 for two, $50 for the Recology set of three, then $10 for each extra cart with no limit (4 carts $60, 5 carts $70, 6 carts $80, 7 carts $90). Monthly and one-time cleans are that rate. Quarterly (one clean every 3 months) is 10% off ($45 for three carts), and bi-yearly (one clean every 6 months) is 20% off ($40 for three). Street packs (4–9 homes on the same pickup day) take another 15% off after the plan discount, so a $45 quarterly clean becomes $38.25. HOAs and apartments are quoted per property.

How do I pay?

You pay after each clean, by Venmo or cash, and there’s no sales tax.

When do you come?

On your Recology pickup day — right after the truck empties the carts. Leave them at the curb like usual. We text the night before and again when we’re done, with before-and-after photos.

How do you clean the bins?

We wash, degrease, and deodorize the interior, lid, and rim with environmentally safe products. No bleach dumped in the gutter.

Will this help with maggots in the green cart?

That’s the main reason Oroville households call. Recology’s own newsletter tells residents to rinse organics carts and use vinegar for maggots. We do the version you don’t have to hose out yourself: wash, degrease, and deodorize, on a schedule so they don’t come back every heat wave.

Is there a contract?

No. Monthly, quarterly, and bi-yearly plans renew until you cancel. Pause or cancel any time before the next scheduled stop. One-time cleans have no follow-up unless you want one.

What areas do you serve?

Greater Oroville: Oroville 95965 & 95966, Thermalito, Kelly Ridge, South Oroville, Wyandotte, and Palermo 95968. If you’re just outside that, send the address anyway. We add neighborhoods as routes fill.

Do I need to be home?

No. Empty carts at the curb is enough. We return them to the same spot, lids closed.

Are the products safe for kids, pets, and the Feather River?

We use environmentally safe detergents, degreasers, and deodorizers — that’s the difference between a professional clean and dumping soapy water toward the gutter.

Can you do apartments, HOAs, or restaurants?

Yes. HOAs and apartments are quoted per property, and dumpsters and enclosures are quote-only, with weekly service available. Neighbors on the same pickup day can book as a Street Pack (4–9 homes, 15% off each home after the plan discount). Use the commercial form and we’ll send your rate.
